I used them for 12 years before I retired them. I still use my first shoes - a 25 year old pair of Vasque Ascenders (did a new on the Grand in them last summer). Still use most of my first mtneering gear - crampons, ice axe. Sold all of the old friends. Stupidly I sold my 0.5 rigid friend with a Ti stem. The same with my old Whillans harness.
